Family Gathering

20/11/2011 – Mark a memorable day for my sister and our family as well. This is the day where my sister registers her marriage with her prince charming and starts another chapter in her life. As for our family, it means we have new family member and Jacq will have another person to pamper her with love. Beside the marriage registration, it is also a good opportunity for all of us to have family gathering since brother and sister is back from KL and Singapore respectively.

After a busy morning, we decided to choose a nice restaurant for dinner and after several round of discussion, we decided to have dinner at Secret Garden, which located near the Ipoh Specialist Hospital. We have a great time chit chatting and when we went home, the photography session start again, with Jacq.

When we are done, suddenly daddy complaint as well that we do not take his picture with Jacq. Thus, Jacq need to pose again and take pictures with daddy.

Jacq's Meal for The Day

Mom cooked us corn and carrot soup on last Wednesday. When looking at the carrot, I decided to add some carrot for Jacq's dinner. The carrot need to be taken out before any seasoning added to the soup so that Jacq's fur will not shed due to the seasoning.

For Jacq's meal, usually we mix some chicken breast meat with the dog biscuit. We usually steamed the chicken breast without adding any seasoning and for the biscuit, it need to be soaked in the water for about 3 minutes before mixing it with the smashed chicken breast meat.

This is half of the chicken breast meat which will be kept for tomorrow's morning as Jacq's breakfast. The meat is cut in smaller size so that it can easily cook when steam and it will take shorter time for it to be fully cooked.

We will then mashed the meat by using our fingers so that it can well mixed with the biscuits. This is to prevent Jacq from choosing the chicken over the biscuits. The biscuits need to be soaked as Jacq does not like crunchy biscuit. Sounds funny right? Yes, she do not likes crunchy biscuit but love kacang puteh. Can you imagine that?

As for today's special dinner treat, we add in the smashed carrot and it give a nice colour combination. Yummy Yummy!! Jacq finished it up in less 10 minutes. :)

Jacq in Collar

Yesterday Jacq give everyone in home a big shock. While I was blow drying her after bath, her wound of an operation open up and we can see a hole through it. We thought that the wound supposed to cure already since the operation was in early October. Without thinking anything else, me and mom brought her to the vet and consult the doctor.

According to doctor, there is a light infection on her wound and it causes a big blister. Now that the blister had popped, it exposes her wound but she does not need a new stitch. All she need is some medicine to put on the wound and also taking antibiotics. Most importantly is, prevent her from licking her wound.

The white spot is the wound but covered with the medicine

"Doc, how was we supposed to prevent her from licking?" asked mom. Jacq is a very active puppy and will not easily sit still. Asking her not to lick her wound is a mission impossible. "Well, if that's the case, I'm going to give her a collar support, just like us when we injured our neck. This will prevent her from licking" explained Dr Gilbert. Dr Gilbert is a young doctor who owns the vet and he's the one performs the operation on Jacq.

While we wait patiently for doctor to put on the collar for Jacq, Jacq moves around as she feels uncomfortable with the restricted movement due to the collar. By the way, I named the thing as collar as I do not know what it is call. We could not hold our laughter when we saw Jacq with the collar. She looks like a blossom flower and she's so cute. The doctor even laughs at her. Pity Jacq!

When we reached home, dad was shock to see her wound and comfort her but dad also could not hold his laughter and we ended up laughing away. Not only this, Jacq keep hitting the chairs, tables and almost everything with her collar. When she comes near to me, she even hurt my face with it.

Be patient Jacq. You will need to wear this till your wound is properly healed. Hopefully it will not take whole week.

I'm Flowery Jacq!

Don't Laugh at me!

Did I look like a robot??

Jacq's First Formal Pet Porter

Dad bought a picnic basket to carry Jacq around when she's only 4 months old and still in a very small size. Mom uses the picnic basket every afternoon when she brings Jacq to her office. As time pass by, Jacq no longer feel comfortable sitting in the picnic basket as her head always knock on the cover. Whenever she's is inside the picnic basket, she will have to curve her body to form a small ball in order for her to have her head straight.

When we decided to bring Jacq along to Cameron for our family trip, it is time to buy a new and proper pet porter for Jacq. Mom is sponsoring the pet porter as she wins the lottery. Thanks Mom!

As usual, I am the one responsible to get the porter. The first thought went to my mind is to pay a visit to ABC Pet Shop. The pet shops have 3 branches which is located at town area, Bercham area and Ipoh Garden area. There is more choices from the one at town area as it is the headquarter. Therefore, on one day during lunch time, I went over with my colleague.

There are so many choices to choose from with variety of size and price. The first one that attracts me is the one with pink and transparent lid. It is very stylish and looks cute. But I have doubt on the size as it looks small and not sure whether my Jacq will be comfortable in it. I move on to see more choices. The porter range from RM80 to RM400 or even more expensive. The one that suitable for flight use cost around RM200 to RM300 depends on the size and those are very solid build.

Since mom is sponsoring, I need to buy according to the specs that mom had fixed. The porter must big enough and economic to her. Therefore, the stylish pink porter is OUT as it looks small and it cost RM150. Finally, I spot a porter which suits to my mom requirement. Big and cheap (it cost only RM80). It looks solid too alhthough it might not as solid as the one which is for flight.

Finally, I made up my mind to buy it although the colour might look a bit dull for Jacq. The porter is in brown colour with a white lid. Well, brown colour will not easily look dirty if compare to the pink porter.

So, Jacq, here's your porter for your first trip to Cameron. Haha!

The towel is not included in the package. It is wrapped using Jacq's favourite towel (from Espirit) by my bro.

New Toys for Jacq

I had always bought Jacq soft toys whenever I visit the pet shop. She's very good at identifying the toys which I bought. Whenever I asked her to bring the ice cream (one of her soft toy was in ice cream form), she can picked the correct one among all the toys.

As she plays roughly with her toys, I need to change her toy from time to time especially those which had torn and unable to sew back. The latest toys that I bought for Jacq is a green crocodile soft toy and a squeeze toy in a form of bone which made of plastic. Previosuly she have one squuze soft toy in a form of bone but that toy need to be discarded as it no longer can be sew due to heavy damage.

We'll see how long these new toys will last for Jacq.

The crocodile look innocent.

Things To Consider When Buying A Pet Porter Kennel

A pet porter is of utmost importance for the safety of your pet particularly when you travel around with them. You cannot simply leave your pet without proper protection, and having a pet porter kennel is the simplest way to do this. Having a pet porter without doubt makes it a great deal simpler to travel by plane, train or boat. Here are a number of things you should look at when choosing a pet porter for your pet’s travelling needs.
1) Dimensions
There are a large number of different types of pet porters for different size animal. It truly is of utmost importance that you acquire one that is the suitable size for your pet. Obtaining them one that is too little is going to make them feel confined and you may well just end up injuring your dog or even worse, suffocating them. If you own a big breed of dog, it’s generally best if you get the greatest size pet porter that can be found. This is to help your dog have a more comfortable trip. When an animal goes into territory that they are not familiar with, they become uneasy and a cramped pet porter can make this fear and worry even worse.
2) Materials
A pet porter can be created from numerous various materials. Amongst the most common material that is used for pet porters is plastic and metal combined. The walls of the pet porter kennel are constructed of heavy duty, industrial-grade plastic, while the gate is made of tough metal. The reason these kinds of materials are uses is simply because they make it very difficult for foreign objects to get into the cage that may harm your pet. Most pet porters that are for larger animal are produced in this way mainly because it is easier for the large animal to not feel like they are caged in where they can see all their surroundings.
3) Weight
It is generally very best to purchase a pet porter that is light; this is particularly true if you are going to be transporting a heavier kind of animal. You ought to avoid the pet porters that are made from glass or wood, given that these materials will give unnecessary weight to the pet porter.
4) Portability
It is important that the pet porter that you select can be easily carried around with you. The better transportability the pet porter is, the simpler it will be to carry your pet in it. Certainly the most easily transportable of all the pet porters is those that have straps that go over your shoulder similar to a bag.
